Kristin & Taylor
Our wedding day was just as spectacular as I had dreamed it would be and a million times more fun than I could have ever imagined. It was a whirlwind of a day and it flew by at lighting speed! Prior to the ceremony, I found myself pausing to take in all that was happening around me. I wanted to treasure all of the day’s precious moments like my bridesmaids’ smiles as they were opening their gifts, the flow of champagne toasts as we were getting our hair and makeup done, the look on my dad’s face when he turned around during our father daughter first look, the way my mom and dad looked at me like I’ll never stop being their little girl as they opened my gift to them, and the cheering screams of my bridesmaids during my dress reveal - the types of memories you’d want to cherish forever. I remember my butterflies of excitement walking up to the fountain to meet Taylor for our first look - not just because it was our first time seeing each other in our wedding attire, but because I couldn’t wait to hear how his day had been so far. It was the happiest day of our lives and we weren’t able to share it together until that very moment. I was overcome with a sense of joy and comfort after our first look. I had never been so sure of anything in my entire life! During the ceremony, the sun burst through the clouds and shone upon us as we said “I do.” I felt like the stars were aligning, gifting us with a magical wedding. Everything from then on was perfect - from vows, to cocktail hour, to grand entrance and first dance. It was the perfect start to our new beginning and nothing made us feel more loved than celebrating our love surrounded by our closest friends and family. In typical Kristin-Taylor fashion, we partied and danced the night away and our two crazy families became one big happy family. I know we’ll remember that night for the rest of our lives.
I started off the day with my closest friends, many of which I hadn’t seen in years. While getting suited up together, it really filled me with happiness to see people from all parts of my life bonding and laughing as a group. I’ll never forget the happiness and pride on my dad’s face as he and my best man--one of my closest friends my entire life--helped me into my tux. We had been waiting for this day for a long time. As the ceremony approached, I began to get really nervous. I’ve taken and passed the bar exam in New York and California, but those days didn’t hold a candle to the pre-wedding jitters. It finally dawned on me that this was really happening. I waited patiently for what seemed like forever for Kristin to finally tap me on the shoulder for our first look. I had built up anticipation and excitement to see her in her dress for the first time--she looked gorgeous, and her dress was more stunning than I could ever have imagined. Standing up at the altar, I was overwhelmed with emotion, first when seeing my sisters as junior bridesmaids, and then of course when Kristin’s parents walked her down the aisle. Delivering our vows was a very emotional moment for both of us. I kept thinking about how important the words were that I was saying in front of everyone important to both of our lives, but I had no hesitations--while looking into Kristin’s eyes, everything else melted away and we both knew we would keep those promises we made forever. Although our first dance definitely didn’t go as smoothly as it did when we had practiced, we managed to laugh the whole way through, and it was perfect just as it was. The speeches reflected genuine pride and happiness from the people most close to us. I remember looking out to the crowd and I could see all who were there to celebrate us. It made me think about how many people loved us and supported our marriage, and I knew that no matter what, we had an amazing support system of loving people in our lives.
