+HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS?
Dustin - Filmmaking about fifteen years and weddings full time about six years. Amanda – Filmmaking about nine years and weddings full time about six years. We chose weddings because we get to work with happy people on their happiest day while everyone is happy for them. I guess you could say we are just happy people that like working with more happy people.
+WHAT KIND OF CAMERAS DO YOU USE?
Great question! This same question should be asked to every videographer! We use Canon Super 35mm Cinema Line cameras coupled with a variety of really expensive lenses. Using the right lens at the right time can help us sculpt a moment into emotion. How does this separate us from other wedding videographers? 9/10 times they will use a DSLR which is a hybrid between a still camera and a video camera, focusing more on the still side of the spectrum. Our cameras are made 100% for professional videographers/cinematographers.
+DO YOU WORK WELL WITH OUR PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes!! We play fair with every photographer, we haven't met a photographer we didn't work well with. We aim to build a great relationship with the photographers. Photographers love us because we work around them. We know they have a lot more directing and posing to do during your wedding day and we respect their creativity. If you need a wedding photographer, we have a wide range of stylish friends that we work with on the regular and would be more than happy to reffer you.
+WHAT AREAS DO YOU PROVIDE SERVICES TO?
We provide services to all countries and states. We consider southern California local weddings (Ventura - San Diego) But we are having our wedding in Big Sur! Great let’s go! We also offer destination weddings for outside of California
+WHAT ARE YOUR TRAVEL FEES?
Well we need first class air, 5 star hotel, massages to keep us limber the day of your wedding and of course room service even if your wedding is across the street from our office. Just Kidding, No hidden fees involved. No travel fees for local weddings and we offer discounts depending on venue location. For destination weddings we have a flat rate for our packages this includes travel and hotel. We can always lower our prices if you want to use air mileage, have a hook up at a swanky hotel or have an extra room at your vacation rental. We are easy to work with.
+DO YOU MEET WITH US?
Yes! In fact we require it before filming, either in person here at the office, a coffee shop, skype, facetime or any other form of video chat. This helps us tremendously when crafting your films and getting to know eachother is very important to us. We really do enjoy the story of you.
+ WHO WILL BE FILMING THE WEDDING?
Dustin and Amanda. we are the only ones to meet with you and we are also the ones who get to hang out with you on your wedding day! Yay! We are also the editors, colorist and sound designers.
+ DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
You betcha! We have full coverage, two million dollar liability insurance and will name your venue or venues as additionally insured for your wedding day
+ DO YOU OFFER DRONE?
Yes of course! We love to fly the drone, in fact we love it so much that we are FAA Licensed pilots certified to fly and operate UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) Wedding videographers who fly without this training and certification do so illegally.
+ WHAT IS THE HIGHLIGHT FILM?
Think of it as an engaging, cinematic summary of your wedding day. They have a runtime between 3 and 5 minutes. This length and format makes the Highlight Film ideal for sharing with family and friends on social media, email or pigeon Post. Highlight Films can be located throughout this website.
+ WHAT IS THE DOCUMENTARY FILM?
The Documentary film is just that – a documentary film of the whole day. Ceremony and Reception how it happened from start to finish edited together with different camera angles. We also use any additional clips that didn’t make the highlight film and use them for mini highlight films throughout the film like, establishing shots, bride and groom prep, first look, details of the ceremony, reading any notes, opening any gifts, etc.
+ WHAT IS THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION FILMS?
Sort of like the documentary film but standalone films that will appear that way in the menu of the Blu-Ray. The lengths vary depending on how long your ceremony is and how many events you have at the reception.
+ CAN I PURCHASE ADDITIONAL DVDS, BLU-RAYS OR USBS AT A LATER DATE?
Yes indeed, we hold all films and footage for up to 3 years! At the end of 3 years we will send out an email letting you know and offer you the RAW footage and films. As for DVDs you don’t want those. DVDs are standard definition and the quality is super low in comparison.
+ ARE YOU GOING TO DIRECT US?
About 95% of the day is collected organically. We will only direct you a handful of times, and certainly not during intimate moments. Similar to having time devoted on your timeline to take photos, we ask that a small block (10-15 minutes) be added to your timeline where we can collect more cinematic shots. During this time we will have you hold hands and walk somewhere hug & kiss, dance etc. It's very similar to taking photos, but with natural movements and less posing. Obtaining these cinematic shots increases the quality of your film dramatically and allows us to add a level of intimacy by eliminating distracting elements in the frame.
+ HIDDEN FEES?
A ton of wedding videographers and photographers give people lots of click bait with lower prices and their goal is to drive the costumers in and then add all these hidden fees along the way. We have zero hidden fees. We aren’t in it to get rich, our goal is to have fun and capture awesome love.
Yes we do! All of our packages are built within a tight budget. The budget includes lots of variables like travel, insurance, amount of footage, which leads to more editing time, marketing, Blu-ray cases, blanks, printing etc etc. We wouldn’t be in business if we didn’t cut a small profit. You get the idea. With all that being in place we do offer discounts depending on the location of the wedding, groom/bride prep locations, and distance from reception. Coming from two military and police force families we also offer military, police, fire and any other first responder discounts. It’s the least we can do for people putting their life on the line for our freedom and well-being.
+ CAN WE USE OUR OWN MUSIC?
Yes and no. I would love to edit a wedding to AC/DC, rolling stones, David Guetta etc. We just don’t budget our films for that kind of copy write license. Every song that is played on the web technically needs to have permission from the artist or record label. A lot of wedding companies have been shut down for using copy write music without these approvals. We do have a kick butt website that sells the licenses to popular songs and it’s inside the budget for our films. If your heart is truly set on an artist or song you can reach out to them or their record label and figure out if it is possible to get that license. Usually it’s more expensive than our most expensive package, which includes international travel at 6500.
